①It is widely accepted that a mutually trusting relationship between teachers and students will have great influence on both teaching and learning.

②The reasons why building trust in schools is crucial are as follows. ③First of all, trust enables students to acquire knowledge and skills from lessons provided by teachers. Only if a student believes in what the teacher says could he absorb new input and follow the instructions that benefit him. ④Secondly, teachers with complete confidence are less prone to misunderstand their students. Considering that teachers are not only spreaders of knowledge, but also tutors of lives, trust in students prevents these behaviour guiders from imposing mistaken punishments when their students blunder. ⑤Last but not the least, mutual trust shortens the distance between teachers and students. If they have faith in each other, communication will become more sincere and effective.

⑥To sum up, building trust between teachers and students is so important that concerted efforts from both sides are needed. In this way, a more harmonious and hopeful classroom atmosphere will be created.
